Issey Miyake in the new york times sunday december 28th, 1998:
In 1998, Miyake presented the Issey Miyake Making Things exhibition in Paris. (This later traveled to both New York and Tokyo.) The exhibition presented his work from Pleats (1988) onward and was widely acclaimed. “His work is grounded in that stretch of history called the present and draws meaning from fashion’s immediate context. ‘Making Things’ presents that context with immense glamour and wit.” (By Herbert Muschamp, December 27, 1998 The New York Times)

TUNE: Daughter by Landfill
Push me out to sea
On a little boat that you made
Out of the evergreen that you helped your father cut away
Leave me on the tracks
To wait until the morning train arrives
Don’t you dare look back
Walk away
Catch up with the sunrise

I was commisioned by The Soho Collective to create a piece of artwork to sit on a door in the middle of busy Soho.

THE DOOR READS:
Oh man,
I really like you,
and you have no idea.
This makes me sad,
which it shouldn’t,
but it does.
And that’s just
the way it is.
